K-12 - New North Junior/Senior High School Project

The new EVSC North Junior and Senior High School campus replaces Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporationís aged high school by the same name. The 85 million dollar project that created an entire new campus for the school corporation that included new athletic facilities, auditorium, Junior High School, and Senior High School. The Junior and Senior High School is 490,000 square feet. The mechanical system is a hybrid geothermal central system with 210 wells for primary heating and cooling with supplemental condensing boilers and an air cooled chiller. Exterior classrooms are conditioned by vertical unit ventilators and interior classrooms are conditioned from a central air handling units distributing air to shutoff variable air volume boxes, both of which are integrate the HVAC into the lighting occupancy sensors to reduce ventilation to the spaces when they are unoccupied. Additionally, the daylight classrooms feature photocell dimming for added efficiency.
